I love this group!! Love them.  I stumbled on a song called (I don’t wanna) think twice. And fell in love. So I decided to do a little research and see what they are about. Guess what your going to find if you type in electric fence :). So after a more descriptive title I still didn’t find much which sucks but here is what I did find out. They are unsigned and bigger in Europe than here. There are 6 of them. That is about it, really. I know they are going to make it huge they have such a distinctive sound. They call themselves alternative but they are way more than that. They are an upbeat sometimes electric polka music with blood and curse words thrown in. 😉  They only have 13 songs so far but it’s enough to keep you going for awhile. Hope you love them as much as I do!

So, I’m at a block party for the fourth right. By the way Go America!! Happy 4th. Ok, I’m loving this get together well really the DJ he is killing it. Then he starts spinning this song the one I heard off glee called Barbera Streisand. Who knew it was a real song. So I came home and come to find out their called duck sauce… cause who doesn’t like duck sauce right… lol  Here’s what I have on them. P.S This could be one of those heat of the moment songs but I really like it. Lets see how I feel about it when my nostalgia of the night wears off.

1. They are popular I just didn’t know it. Mostly UK shit.

2. project of DJ Armand Van Helden and turntablist A-Trak

3. Love the cameos

This group has such a spiritual blue grass feel to it. I love LOVE blue grass!! I like the feel of folk music. It makes me want to put a maxi skirt on and go barefoot. Even if this isn’t your cup of tea have an open mind and take a listen. 😉

Inspired by folk, rock, country, and bluegrass, the London-based Mumford & Sons feature singer/guitarist/drummer Marcus Mumford, vocalist and banjo/Dobro player Winston Marshall, vocalist/keyboardist Ben Lovett, and vocalist/bassist Ted Dwane. The foursome started playing together in 2007; though they were playing with other bands at the time, they bonded over their shared love of rootsy music. Mumford & Sons quickly became a part of London’s underground folk scene, which included acts like Laura Marling and Noah and the Whale. By late autumn 2007, the band was writing songs and playing shows frequently, leading to a gig at 2008’s Glastonbury Festival. That June, their self-titled debut EP arrived, followed by the Love Your Ground EP that December. In May 2009, the Cave and the Open Sea EP was released; meanwhile, Mumford & Sons signed to Island Records and worked with producer Markus Drays (the Arcade Fire, Maccabees) on their first full-length. That summer, the single “Little Lion Man” became the first taste of their new material; it was named Hottest Record in the World This Week by BBC 1 Radio DJ Zane Lowe in July. The group was shortlisted for the BBC’s Sound of 2009 Poll shortly before its debut album, Sigh No More, was released that winter. It was issued a year later in America on the Glassnote Records label.

Awolnation is a kick-ass pop rock type of music. Their song sail is a bit darker than the rest but all very good. They are a couple of months old but definitely worth blogging about.

A solo project of Aaron Bruno, AWOLnation began as a creative outlet for the songwriter and multi-instrumentalist. Bruno, who had been a member of Home Town Hero and Under the Influence of Giants, needed a break from the collaborative process and hoped to find a place for some of his songs that didn’t fit with his other bands. With AWOLnation, Bruno built a kind of creative free-for-all for himself, allowing him to blend genres as he wanted in a style reminiscent of Beck, blending live instrumentation, electronic elements, and slick production into an electro-pop hybrid that draws from the whole of pop music. In 2011, AWOLnation made its full-length debut, releasing Megalithic Symphony on Red Bull Records.
